b/w ink-jet prints on Vinil, format 138 х 110 cm.
These
photographs came as a result of the encounter of four photographers, living
and working in an exclusively urban context, with the mountains of the Durmitor
natural preserve in Montenegro.
These
photographs are a play with oneself: the artists are impersonating their own
personages and their own relationship with the nature. This is a relationship
that usually takes place midway between two points, when the car pulls aside.
For a couple of minutes, the surrounding landscape stops its endless loop
of passing images and comes to a still.
These
photographs are a genre play - a play with the classical hyper-realistic landscape
photography, started in 1930's by Ansel Adams and meticulously followed by
generations of North American photographers till now.
These
photographs are a play with the public - and shouldn't be taken too seriously.

The
photographs were taken in August 2002 during the International photographic
workshop on "Unconventional Approach to Landscape Photography" in
the National park "Durmitor" - Montenegro, organized by "Montenegro
Mobile Art" Foundation for culture - Podgorica. Photographers from France,
Portugal, Spain, Montenegro, Yugoslavia, Bulgaria, etc. took part in the "Durmitor"
workshop. The Bulgarian participation was realized with the kind support of
"Pro Helvetia" Swiss foundation for culture - Sofia.
